Ahhhhh, you guys.  I did this.  It is sooo indulgent. I weaned myself off of coffee creamer a few years ago and started to make my own flavored syrups, like THIS  triple vanilla syrup, THIS lavender one and THIS Autumn Spice one.  And then I recently saw an ad for Peanut Butter Cup Creamer.  What!?!  My eyes widened and I thought to myself “I must have it!”.  But then I thought “But I don’t use creamer anymore 😭”  AND THEN I thought “Why don’t I try to make some?”.  Bingo.

I thought making this peanut butter cup creamer would be easy.  I chopped up a few peanut butter cups, threw them in some half and half and thought I was good to go.  The flavor was there when I tasted it on its own, but got lost once it was in the coffee.  So I had to try a few things before I was happy with the flavor.  Since peanut butter and chocolate are my favorite flavor combo EVER, I had to get it right.  If that meant buying millions of peanut butter cups (and eating half of them) that was the sacrifice I was willing to make.  You’re welcome.

What we end up with is a creamy, peanut buttery, chocolatey creamer that makes your morning coffee that much better.  So what do you think, peanut butter in coffee, yes/no?  I say yes.

The original Reeses 32 oz creamer was $5.50 if they still have it. So how far does your creamer last, because it’s 4 Reeses packs at 1.5 oz. $1.37 each HEB right now. 6 oz Reeses 8 oz half and half makes 14 + 2 oz peanut butter….this is 16 ounces… OK just putting this together Reeses cost almost $6 alone and 32 oz Reeses creamer almost $6. This sounds really good but if I made 32 ounces it might cost about $16 for 32 oz of this recipe. Does this last you about as much as a 32oz creamer you might buy. Do you use less because it’s dense? I wondered about some kind of ingredient adjustment like more cream. I usually buy half gallons of HnH for coffee, often two at a time. I usually drink 20 oz coffee if just one in the morning only.

I’m going to go get some stuff soon to make this. I am anticipating this will be better than what you could buy.

  3. I am eager to give this a try. It sounds delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about peanut butter with coffee. Thank you for sharing an amazing recipe.

  4. Hi Megan. Reese’s creamer is the only one I use, and now it’s been discontinued! I’ve tried making my own with other people’s recipes to no avail. They just don’t live up to the hype. Your’s is the only one I have found that uses actual peanut butter cups. I’m headed to the store right now to grab the supplies. Sooo excited!!

Oh man. Chocolate and peanut butter with coffee? It sounds divine. I can’t wait.

I do have one suggestion, definitely try this with a good smooth medium roast.

The best way to find smooth coffee is to search the internet for “smooth coffee”, or “smoothest coffee”, or “smooth coffee beans”.

  6. Why is Reese’s the only brand that makes a peanut butter creamer?!

This looks good but i’m going to try pb fit (dried peanut butter) and various creamers.

  7. I have tried the store bought kind and OMG amazing!!! Since I ran out I have tried to make my own by just adding a spoonful of peanut butter to my coffee. it takes the edge off. 😂 can I store this in the original container I bought the liquid creamers in? Or does it have to be glass jars with lids?

    1. Hi Bethanie – Yay, so glad you are trying this! I think it would be fine to store it in the original creamer container. Just be sure it is cooled before you put it in the container so it doesn’t melt the plastic 🙂

Meghan!! I keep seeing this creamer all over the place and every time I do I have to stop and drool. I want to make a batch and just drink it straight from the carafe. 😉

oh my word, this is EVERYTHING. i have a girlfriend who has been hunting down the version on the shelves ever since it came out with no avail

    1. Hi Rachel – I’m sure it would, but it will probably be less creamy. If I were to try it, I would go with almond milk, to take advantage of the nutty flavor (I feel like the coconut milk would change the flavor). Let me know how it goes!

  10. Good afternoon, I am soooo happy to have run across this recipe. Thank you very much. How losing does this last in the fridge.? Thank you

Gah you’re some kind of genius!! I don’t even drink coffee, but I had to come here and leave a comment. I loooooove Reese’s cups and peanut butter in general. This is so clever. If I drank coffee, I’d be ALL OVER this.

  12. oh my word, this is EVERYTHING. i have a girlfriend who has been hunting down the version on the shelves ever since it came out with no avail…now i get to surprise her with an even better homemade version!!!

    1. Ahhh, you are going to win the best friend ever award! I actually have been looking for it because I wanted to do a comparison but I can’t find it anywhere either! Thanks Jess!

I was curious what kind of creamer you were working on when I saw your Instagram story! Your sacrifice of time (and Reese’s peanut butter cups) is greatly appreciated 😍
