How to make Buffalo Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer. I’ll show you my secret ingredient for making super crispy chicken wings using the Air Fryer. Make two different buffalo wing sauces – traditional buffalo sauce and Honey Buffalo sauce!

The secret ingredient to crispy buffalo wings in the Air Fryer

An unexpected ingredient helps make these air fryer wings crispy without being fried – baking powder! It’s very important to make sure you use baking powder NOT baking soda. It’s also important to make sure the baking powder is aluminum free. Using baking soda or baking powder with aluminum can make your wings taste awful, so don’t make that mistake!

HOW MUCH BAKING POWDER SHOULD I USE TO MAKE CRISPY CHICKEN WINGS?

Use 1 teaspoon of baking powder for each pound of chicken wings. I also use 1 teaspoon of salt per pound of chicken wings to make sure they are properly seasoned.

How to cook chicken wings in the air fryer

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  2. Pat dry wings with a paper towel and place in a large bowl. Toss with salt and baking powder.
  3. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer. Cook for 10 minutes, flip the wings, then cook for 10 more minutes.
  4. Add wings to a clean bowl and toss with sauce of choice to fully coat. Serve immediately.

How long to air fry chicken wings at 400 degrees F?

Cook chicken wings for 10 minutes, then flip them over or shake the basket, and cook them for an additional 10 minutes.

HOW DO YOU MAKE BUFFALO SAUCE FOR CHICKEN WINGS?

  1. How to make Original Buffalo Sauce: In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt 1/3 cup of unsalted butter. Add 1/2 cup Frank’s RedHot Original, whisk to combine. Toss with cooked wings and serve.
  2. How to make Honey Buffalo Sauce: In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt 1/3 cup of unsalted butter. Add 1/2 cup of Frank’s RedHot Original, 2/3 cup of honey, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp paprika. Whisk until fully emulsified. Toss with cooked wings and serve.

how many wings should I serve per person?

How many wings to serve per person depends on a few things. If you are serving them as an appetizer with several other foods, plan on at least two wings per person. If you are serving the wings as the main dish or as a snack with not many other foods, plan on 6-10 wings per person.

How many wings are in one pound?

Depending on the size of the wings, there are usually 4-5 wings per pound of chicken wings.
