This Easy Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix has only four ingredients and takes five minutes to make! This is a perfect gift for friends and neighbors during the holiday season!

December is here, and I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to getting festive. Although the holidays will look different this year, we can still bring joy to our loved ones in so many different ways.

I’m looking forward to some “porch visits” with my friends, and I’ll be sure to bring some treats to make their season a little brighter. This Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix is just about the best way to do that. Not only is it incredibly easy, using only four ingredients, but every time your friend makes a cup of hot cocoa, they will think of you!

How to make homemade hot chocolate mix

This Homemade Hot Chocolate Recipe couldn’t be easier. All you need is unsweetened cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and powdered milk. You can also add some marshmallows later if you want, but that is optional.

Use a mesh strainer to sift the ingredients to make sure there are no lumps. Then whisk the ingredients together until they are combined. Transfer to an airtight container – I used a few mason jars. Add some mini marshmallows at the top of the jar if you want.

When ready to make the hot chocolate, mix one part of the dry cocoa mix with one part hot water or milk. You can use milk to make it creamier, but water works perfectly too. You can adjust the ratio to your own tastes.

If you really want to bring someone extra joy this year, why not bring them a little care package? Safeway not only has all the ingredients for this Hot Chocolate Mix, but they also have a large selection of flowers and gifts. I added this debi lilly design™ Alpine Frost Bouquet and Fa la la giftable candle to my porch drop off care package. Who wouldn’t love to find this surprise gift on their front porch?

I shopped at Safeway, but you can also find these items at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Randalls, Shaw’s Supermarket, Star Market, Tom Thumb and Vons.  Safeway also offers Grocery Delivery and DriveUp & Go™ for convenient ways to shop!
